Contact and support
Questions, problems or ideas? Email us and the developer will reply, usually within one or two days.
Talvo is made by Muhammad Abdullah, an independent developer. Writing from the app (Settings → Contact support, or Help → Contact Support on a Mac) adds your app version and plan to the email for you.
What to include
A few details help us fix things on the first reply.
- Your device and its iOS or macOS version
- Your Talvo version (at the bottom of Settings on iPhone, or Talvo → About Talvo on a Mac) and your plan, free or Pro
- What you did, what you expected and what happened instead
- A screenshot of any error message
Common questions
Subscriptions and billing
How do I cancel my subscription?
On iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Talvo. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings, and choose Manage next to Subscriptions. Pro subscribers can also tap Manage subscription in Talvo's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.
How do I get a refund?
Subscriptions are sold by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account you subscribed with.
I subscribed, but Pro isn't showing
Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you subscribed with, then tap Restore purchases in Talvo's Settings (on the Mac, Settings → Account). One subscription covers both iPhone and Mac.
What does the free plan include?
Your first lesson, three live-interpreter exchanges, about three minutes of the neural voice, the placement test, and unlimited reviews and deck. Pro unlocks unlimited lessons, conversations, translation and neural voice, and the yearly plan comes with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
AI features and privacy
What does Talvo send to OpenAI?
When you use the AI features, what you type and say, your learning details and text to be read aloud go through our server to OpenAI, which writes the lessons, replies, corrections and transcriptions. On iPhone, Talvo asks for your permission before anything is sent. The privacy policy has the details.
How do I turn the AI features on or off?
On iPhone, tap the gear on the Today screen to open Settings, then use the switch under AI & Privacy. With them off, reviews and your deck still work.
How do I delete my data?
Talvo has no accounts, so your lessons, cards and progress live only on your device. To remove a language, delete its course in Settings (swipe it under Languages on iPhone); deleting the app removes everything. Our server stores nothing you send, only logs with the time, request type and an anonymous install ID, kept for 30 days. OpenAI deletes API data within 30 days unless the law requires it to be kept.
Troubleshooting
Lessons or conversations won't load
Check that you're online and, on iPhone, that the AI features are switched on in Settings → AI & Privacy. On the free plan, the first lesson is free and Pro unlocks the rest. Still stuck? Email us the error message.
Talvo can't hear me
In your device's settings, open Privacy & Security and allow Talvo under both Microphone and Speech Recognition. Speak close to the mic. On a weak connection, turn off Neural listening in Talvo's Settings under Voice & listening (Voice on the Mac) to use Apple's speech recognition.
There's no sound
Raise the volume and check that the sound isn't going to Bluetooth headphones you're not wearing. If the natural voice doesn't play, turn off the neural voice in the same Voice settings to use Apple's built-in voice.
